Squirrel Gliders 06-06-2010

Squirrel Gliders 06-06-2010

We were at the house last weekend and were visited by two little squirrel gliders. They were quite unafraid, and had to be dissuaded from snacking on our pre-dinner pesto!

They came back to the house for the three evenings we were there, exploring every nook and cranny of the upper deck. When they left they would just launch themselves from the railing onto the palms below. Heart stopping!

We think they are living in the big gum tree just near the front of the house.

Whales! 07-10-2009

Several times in the last few weeks there have been whales sighted in Moreton Bay. This is a picture taken by our son while he was in the bay fishing last week. Fantastic sight, and they were blown away to be so close to several whales.

Dust Storm Moreton Island 23-09-2009

The dust storm that had blanketed Sydney moved up into South East Queensland and also across Moreton island, it also produced a shimmer effect across the water. In this photo cars are lined up to go on to the Micat ferry, quite amazing.
